Poems Not Prisons is a monthly open mic and poetry event in Philadelphia, PA hosted by anarchists and anti-authoritarians who are prison abolitionists. It is a place where words meet action, where we attempt to use the art of poetry to create a space to discuss the ways that prisons and the prison system have taken a hold of our culture and our people. Each month we feature a different poet, as well as opening up the floor for other experienced poets or those brand new to reading in public.
